Each Estate print is accompanied by a Imogen Cunningham Trust provenance label on the back of the matted print. Imogen's Chinese chop was chosen by her to verify her Estate prints. The chop is composed of three Chinese characters representing the name 'Imogen' spelled phonetically, Im-o-gen. These Chinese characters translate to "Ideas Without End."
Our platinum Estate prints are hand-crafted prints, made directly from Imogen Cunningham’s original negatives. Every print is authenticated and stamped by the Imogen Cunningham Trust with Imogen's de-bossed signature. We continue Imogen's enthusiasm for this archival photographic process. The platinum printing process lends a beautiful, rich warm tone to the image, with tonal scale and depth that is hard to replicate with contemporary photographic processes. Each individually hand-coated print is museum mounted and over-matted, with her de-bossed signature below the print and an accompanying provenance on the back matboard of the mounted print.
